As our name suggests we are committed to being Green.

We guarantee that for each kWh of electricity our members use, an equal amount of renewable electricity is put back into the grid.

This means that joining Green can have an instant impact on your personal carbon emissions.

According to the Government's latest report, the average customer (using 3,100 kWh of electricity and 12,000 kWh of gas per year) on a typical fuel mix*, generates 0.256 kg of CO2 per kWh of electricity and 0.184kg of CO2 per kWh gas.

This means that on average an energy consumer will produce around 0.8 tonnes of carbon from electricity and 2.2 tonnes of carbon from their gas.

By switching to any of our 100% renewable electricity tariffs, you will reduce your emissions per kWh of electricity to 0kg. If you switch to one of our tariffs that supplies carbon neutral gas, the same will be true of your gas emissions.

Either way, you will be doing your part to help collectively reduce our environmental impact. At Green, we will continue to explore ways to help you understand your carbon footprint and how we can offer you cost-effective and sustainable ways to supply your home.

*The proportion of energy which is generated from various sources, e.g. fossil fuels, nuclear energy, and renewables.
